The Rocky Festival includes a Picnic Raceday, Keppel Island Cruise, a Hollywood themed New Years Eve Ball and a Group Outfit Recovery day. There are many other associated events and street parties to keep everyone in the mood. Entertainment and bands are all geared for a full on party time.
There have been many celebrities attend over the years including Kimberley Busteed (Miss Universe Australia 2007) who is expected to come for her third year in a row. The Rocky New Year Festival is in the Rockhampton region in central Queensland. The Raceday is held at Callaghan Park close to the centre of town. The New Year Ball and Recovery is held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds about two kilometres north of the town centre. Keppel Island is a beautiful Island off the coastline and the boats depart at Roslyn Bay marina. Buses will operate for some events. Look at the programme on the website.
The Hollywood New Years Eve Ball is AUD110.00 and this is an all inclusive food and drink event. The all inclusive Group Outfit Recovery is AUD60.00 and the Keppel Cruise and Party which is BYO is AUD55.00.The Ball ticket also gives you discounts to things like the Races and Street Parties. Camping is popular at the Riverside Tourism Park which is the centre of town near the Racecourse.
